- Darlington House is a 30 private room residential wing in which persons
receive a moderate amount of assistance. Located in the Community Center
Building, it is designed to meet the needs of the person who requires
assistance with his/her physical care but still desires to remain as
independent as possible. It is licensed by the State as a Personal Care
Unit.
Assistance is provided for residents who require help with medication, hygiene/grooming, daily living tasks, and such services as may be required for their health, safety and well-being. These may include physician care by our medical Director and on-site Health Office, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, and other therapeutic interventions. As is the philosophy of all health care at Foxdale, we seek an optimal level of health and independence for our residents.
Individual care is provided in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. The
private rooms, equipped with their own private bathrooms, are bright
and spacious. Residents furnish their own living space. Lounge areas
are located in both Darlington House and the Foxdale Community Center
for the use and enjoyment of the residents.
Services at Darlington House are provided to meet not only the personal
care needs but also the social needs of each resident. This is done
through the Foxdale Village Community Center. As this Center is physically
connected to Darlington House, residents have easy accessibility to
the Omega Bank, a beauty salon/barber shop, a resident-operated gift
shop, library, auditorium, and ongoing activities offered in several
activity rooms. Meals are available in the Community Center's cafe and
formal dining room, allowing one to have ongoing contact with other
Foxdale residents.
Foxdale's Darlington House accepts residents on the basis of physical
needs and financial qualifications without regard to race, color, creed,
handicap, or national origin. Our concern is for our residents to be
pleased with the services provided and their living environment. We
welcome the questions of families and potential residents. Additional
information, including our fees, will be provided
upon request.
