Global Warming 101 with Dr. Raymond Najjar

September 24 @ 7:00 pm 8:00 pm

Dr. Raymond Najjar is a Professor of Oceanography in the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at Penn State University, with a joint appointment in the Department of Geoscience.

Dr. Najjar has a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from The Cooper Union and a PhD in ocean science from Princeton University. He also had a much-coveted postdoc at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

Dr. Najjar’s early work in open-ocean biogeochemistry and more recent concentration on coastal and estuary nutrient cycling have taken him from Antarctica to the Chesapeake Bay.

In Global Warming 101, you will learn about the fundamentals of the Earth’s changing climate, including the evidence for warming, the contributions of humans, the impacts on ecosystems and society, and how our actions now will determine the severity of the threat to future generations.
